What is Bus and Subway Runner?
Bus and Subway Runner is an arcade endless runner released in October 2017. Your character moves forward on their own; your job is to steer left and right, jump over obstacles, and slide under barriers to stay alive. The setting shifts between open city streets and the underground subway, and buses are the main hazard you have to watch out for. The game has seven playable heroes, each with a different look and a different music track, and you collect coins on every run to spend on new outfits and hoverboards.
Controls and movement
All movement is handled with four inputs. The hoverboard is a special ability you trigger with a double mouse click, letting you fly above the ground and clear obstacles that would otherwise end your run.

Hoverboards, balloons, and the bonus level
Two special items can change the course of a run. The hoverboard keeps you airborne so buses and low obstacles pass beneath you. Balloons are rarer and do something different: grab one and it carries you to a bonus level where you can earn extra coins. Knowing when to pop the hoverboard ability versus saving it for a tighter spot later is the main strategic choice in each run.

Heroes and unlocks
There are seven heroes to choose from. Each one has a unique appearance and plays a different music track while you run. You unlock new heroes and cosmetics by spending the coins you earn in runs. There are also hoverboard skins to collect, so longer runs pay off beyond just a high score.
Tips for surviving longer runs
- Stay in the center lane when possible; it gives you one move in either direction as a buffer.
- Save the hoverboard for dense obstacle clusters, not the first hazard you see.
- Watch for balloon pickups near the edges of the track; they are easy to miss if you only move to dodge.
- Switch heroes once in a while. The different music tracks actually help with focus on long sessions.
- Coins appear in lines, so running through their path instead of dodging around it adds up faster than it looks.
